Rice Plants’ Resistance to Sheath Blight Infection Is Increased by the Synergistic Effects of Trichoderma Inoculation with SRI Management

چکیده

The capability of endophytic Trichoderma spp. to reduce sheath blight disease in rice caused by Rhizoctonia solani was assessed under the growth conditions established practices System Rice Intensification (SRI), compared those standard irrigated cultivation. seeds inoculated with a local isolate fungus asperellum SL2 were grown respective SRI and conventional or uninoculated plants then infected pathogen R. solani. It seen that inoculation this strain protected against infection while enhancing plant growth, photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance. biocontrol effectiveness particular significantly greater management This is first report on how crop system, case, SRI, can influence

Screening Oryza Species Plants for Rice Sheath Blight Resistance

Sheath blight of rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a major rice disease throughout the world including the southern United States. This disease, which is caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kühn (teleomorph: Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk), was first reported in 1910 and now occurs throughout temperate and tropical production areas, being most prominent where rice is grown under intense, high-fertility ...

Sheath Blight and Its Management in Rice

Rhizoctonia solani AG1-IA, is the most economically important disease in Texas and other southern rice-producing states. The disease is widespread and occurs every year. The disease was first reported in Japan in 1910, and was soon well established in many Asian countries (Lee and Rush, 1983). The pathogen is capable of infecting rice, soybeans, grass weeds, and hundreds of other plant species ...

Expression of Xa1, a bacterial blight-resistance gene in rice, is induced by bacterial inoculation.

The Xa1 gene in rice confers resistance to Japanese race 1 of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, the causal pathogen of bacterial blight (BB). We isolated the Xa1 gene by a map-based cloning strategy. The deduced amino acid sequence of the Xa1 gene product contains nucleotide binding sites (NBS) and a new type of leucine-rich repeats (LRR); thus, Xa1 is a member of the NBS-LRR class of plant diseas...

Mapping and validation of QTLs for rice sheath blight resistance

Sheath blight, caused by Rhizoctonia solani, is one of the most serious diseases of rice. Among 33 rice accessions, mainly from National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) Core Collection, we found three landraces from the Himalayas-Jarjan, Nepal 555 and Nepal 8-with resistance to sheath blight in 3 years' field testing. Backcrossed inbred lines (BILs) derived from a cross between Jarj...

Identification of Rice Genes to Tag Quantitative Resistance to Sheath Blight in Rice

The goal of this project is to develop molecular tools to control rice sheath blight disease. Toward this end, a subtracted rice copy-DNA (cDNA) (only the expressed DNA) library was created to identify differentially expressed genes at the early interface between a tolerant rice cultivar ‘Jasmine 85’ and a highly virulent Rhizoctonia solani isolate. R. solani-induced message RNAs were selected ...
